Primary and Secondary quests
Hello. Just wondering what the Primary and Secondary quests are. I'd like to be a protector or Tyria and I have to complete all 25 to do so. I tried searching the forums but it is "disabled". Thanks.

Primary and secondary refer to the Missions you get, you must complete each one along with the bonus in in.

There is a difference between quests and missions.
Primary quests are the ones that lead you to the next mission in Factions and Nightfall, following the story line. In those campaigns, you can't enter the mission -- or even get into many mission outposts -- until you've done the required primary quest(s). This does not apply so much to Prophecies, where you can do any mission as soon as you reach the mission outpost, even if you haven't done previous missions or quests. Many missions in Prophecies will simply take you to the next mission, without any quests in between. For example, completing Great Northern Wall will take you directly to Fort Ranik. Secondary, or "side", quests are not required, but offer a number of rewards, including XP, skills, and gold. Again, this doesn't apply so much to Prophecies, though the many skill quests could be considered secondary. Missions are offered in outposts that are shown with large shields on the map. To earn a Protector title for a campaign, you must complete all of the missions and their bonuses (in Prophecies) or complete all of the missions at masters level (in Factions or Nightfall). |
